Waterfall Veliki Buk
Veliki Buk is a waterfall on the slopes of Beljanica, on the small river Vrelo, the right tributary of the Resava.
Waterfall Veliki Buk is located at about 380 meters above sea level, near Resava cave. It is over 20 meters tall and is considered one of the tallest waterfalls in Serbia.
According to the type of creation, Veliki Buk was created by accumulation of tufa. A small shallow pond is formed at the foot of the waterfall and it is surrounded by huge tufa blocks. It is under protection of the state, as a natural reserve of great significance.
It is the most beautiful in spring because that’s when its water potential is at its highest, but one can also enjoy its magic during the hot summer days. There are several fine ethnic restaurants right by the waterfall, and the Resava canyon and Resava cave are only several kilometres away.
